Got the table we had requested, when earlier we booked for dinner for four. Asked for fish of the day, "today's special" as per the menu and were told they were out of fish. Waitress' tone was that this was my problem to learn to live with and not theirs. Was even chided to "not kill the messenger", which seemed to pass the blame to the staff in the kitchen or to overall management. Very unpleasant experience to be essentially scolded for not accepting that the fish announced on the menu was not "today's special" every day. Menus are there to list what a restaurant has to chose from, not a list of "maybe's". If well-organized, restaurant should have back-up plan, especially in major town like this where fish can be bought in a multitude of places. Red wine list was limited to just for brands. Otherwise food was good, but I'm not going to describe it here, as I was so put off by the arrogant behaviour at the start. After all, waiting staff should want to create a welcoming atmoshpere out of simple human politeness, not to speak of creating a positive word-of-mouth chain that keeps customers coming so staff don't find themselves out of a job. I for one will never want to return there, unless management up their game in training staff in making customers feel welcomed, rather than put down.
